Minimalist home is an architectural style that lately became a trend in the cities. Architectural building designs, including minimalist home, are the choices of architectural forms which influenced by culture. Not only just a trend. Minimalism is a pattern of thinking, working, and a way of life.
A new perspective of seeing the design as a reflection of urban life that is completely practical, light, efficient, and simple. Minimalist home also comes with a clear character (geometrical forms and spaces, simple), better (solid), and stronger with empty spaces (a bit ornaments and furniture). The principle is the simpler, the design quality, spaces, and the structure completion must be getting better.
John Pawson, which is regarded as a teacher “minimalism” is presenting a home that has simple lines, the atmosphere is quiet and beautiful. But it should be noted, minimalist also means sterile, single appearance, and tend to bored. So we need to understand the basic improvement of minimalist home which associated with the urban culture.
Is minimalist form always shaped like simple box or is there another form? The shape of minimalist home is not always like simple box, but it can also be shaped like platonic geometry which become part of the landscape that “suddenly” come up. However, if we want the home to shape like box, then the shape should be as a result of need, not just following the trend.
